2/21/07- Group W on the air!!! Hopefully some of you have had the chance to hear a couple of cuts from our CD being played on WXPN's Sleepy Hollow radio show. Well we're happy to say that we will be appearing live in the studio on Sunday night Feb. 25 on the Folk show. Chuck Elliot will be our host subbing for Gene Shay. As of this writing, we're still not sure what time we will be appearing but hopefully they'll let us know so we can tell you. Otherwise just give a listen. Don't forget you can also listen through their website www.WXPN.org.
Check our Schedule page for some upcoming gigs. Keep smiling everyone. Spring is around the corner!
12/9/06- LOTS OF NEWS TO TELL YOU!! The group has had a good Fall playing the Doylestown Crafts Fair and a couple of private functions. Dave McCullough has been re-elected as President of the Bucks County Folk Song Society and Lisa Wildman and Dave, along with our good Friend Denise Mitkus, hve recorded a children's album of songs. They go by the name "Peanut Butter Jellyfish" and have just release released their first CD available on CD BABY. You can access their website in our links page.
BUT the big news that we want to announce is that effective right now, you can download your favorite Group W cuts onto your iPod!! Our CD distributor, CD BABY has set up a link to Apple's iTunes and you can download your favorite GW tunes for only $ .99 a cut!!! Here is the direct link to that page Group W @ iTunes. So let's spread the word for only $ .99 a cut.
We're pretty excited about this as well as the fact that we've received some radio airplay on WXPN's (88.5) Sleepy Hollow. Our thanks to Chuck Elliot for playing "Blackbird" and "Tides of our Lives" on his show. If you want to hear selected cuts from our CD and it fits in Chuck's format for the day, please give them a call and request a tune.
It's shaping up to be a wonderful holiday season for all of us. Speaking of which...
Please accept our wishes for the most wonderful holiday during this joyous season. "Peace for us" and fill up your iPod!
9/7/06- Fall is rapidly approaching so start to look for those sweaters and jackets. Also find time to see Group W performing hopefully near you. Check our "schedule" page for details on the Indian Valley Library Performance.
That will be a very busy weekend for Group W and members because we're also appearing at the Doylestown Crafts Show the weekend of the 9th & 10th. Group W will be performing only on Sunday, but Dave McCullough and Saverio Minicucci will each be appearing by themselves on Saturday. Also look for us in Quakertown coming up in October. Enjoy the leaves!
8/11/06- Wow! Three months have flown by! Group W's summers usually involve a lot of family vacations, with not many opportunities to perform. But as we wind down the hot months, we're finding ourselves appearing at a few more venues. Keep your eyes on our schedule page for updates. BTW, if you haven't been to one of our gigs lately, a new addition to our boutique are free "Group W" pencils for writing your own little circles and arrows on whatever you want to write them on. Grab a couple next time we're in the neighborhood like at the Ivyland Peach Festival. We'll be appearing with our good friends "No Windows", so it will be a fun-filled time. See you then!
5/11/06- Our brief set at NXNW in Philly went well and we hope to grace the stage there again in the neat future. Because we did such a short set, we couldn't bring the dulcimer or the mandolin which led to some interesting arrangements of some of our songs. But if you still a Group W fix, come on out to the Artisan and Heritage Day at School Rd. Park in Hatfield on Saturday May 20. We'll do one extended set of about 1 1/2 hrs. starting at about
1 or 1:30 pm. Let's hope for some great weather. See you then.
5/1/06- A wonderful time was had by folks attending Lehman Church last Saturday night. Group W ran through their sets to a very appreciative audience. Now we're getting ready for our singer/songwriter open mike at North by Northwest on Tuesday May 9th. Hope you can join us.
4/11/06- Wow! Time really does fly when you're having fun. Last time we were here, it was cold, rainy, snowy, you name it. But now the trees are budding and Group W gets busy for the Spring. Please check our schedule page to see our upcoming gigs. We hope to see you there. Also, don't forget to drop us an email if you saw us recently or bought the CD. We'd love to hear from you. ENJOY THE SPRING!!
12/18/05- Group W would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season! And we would like to thank all of our supporters and fans and wish you only the best for the upcoming New Year.
We're in the planning stages of our CD release party/concert and will let you all know as soon as we get things in order. Enjoy the season!
12/9/05- Our CD is finally on CD Baby's website. Follow the link directly to our CD....click here!
Also on our CD/Lyrics page, we have posted all of the lyrics to our original and traditional songs. The only two that aren't there are Blackbird and Blackberry Blossom which will be found on our links page. We hope to have a printer ready version within the next few days also.
Lastly we thank you for all the nice words about the site. We hope to keep it current and informative. Let us know if you have any questions or suggestions.
11/12/05- Group W enjoyed a performance hosted by the Gwynedd Friends at their Meeting House in North Wales. PA. We had a wonderful and appreciative audience. Some of the pictures from that night are in our photos section.
Be sure not to miss them.
Dave McCullough will be taking over the reins of the Bucks County Folk Song Society beginning in December.
11/9/05 Group W is proud to announce the release of their debut, self titled CD. We'll be planning a record release concert at some point in the future. Keep your eyes posted to this web site for future announcements.
